Description & Application
The EZ-TEST™ Tool is a light weight, powerful low frequency AC Hipot Tester, which facilitates quick, easy and safe AC Hipot tests of URD power cables. Most of the times these tests are carried out by construction crews after repairs and before energizing a new circuit. Typically the circuits to be tested are short in length (approx. 1,000ft) and contain 15kV cables with smaller conductor sizes (#2, 2/0). The EZ-TEST™ Tool offers safety and protection features, which are innovative and unique to this class of equipment. They ensure the personal safety of the operator and protect the equipment from being inadvertently damaged by feedback. The operation of the EZ-TEST™ Tool is microprocessor controlled. The user starts a test by either selecting a pre-set test cycle, e.g. “SPLICE TEST”, which requires no adjustments what so ever, or he can custom program a test cycle according to specific test parameters.
