VLF 34kV Sinus

The 34kV VLF Sinus Tool is a lightweight, powerful low frequency AC VLF Tester, which features an exact sinusoidal wave shape and facilitates quick, easy and safe AC Hipot tests of URD power cables according to IEEE 400.2 & VDE 0276. The unit can be used as either a proof test unit to test the workmanship of splices and terminations, or to test the integrity of the cable insulation as part of a preventative maintenance program. Typically the circuits to be tested are short in length (approx. 2,000ft) and contain 15kV cables with relatively small conductor sizes (#2, 2/0). The 34kV VLF Sinus offers safety and protection features / options, which are innovative and unique to this class of equipment. They ensure the personal safety of the operator and protect the equipment from being inadvertently damaged. The unit can also be combined with the optional Tan Delta test option to allow for global test of the overall dielectric quality of the cable insulation.
